The threaded neck makes it the better bottle for storing and transporting what you made: ferment in it, then cap it (your own screw cap or a bung) and it travels without spilling a drop.

Same glass virtues as every demijohn: no scratches, no odours, sanitise with anything, see everything. Five litres suits juice, cider, kombucha, cold brew and 1-gallon beer experiments alike. Glass only — closure not included.

Key features

L clear glass with threaded screw neck

Ferment, then cap and store or transport

No scratches or odour carryover, unlike plastic

Multi-purpose: cider, mead, kombucha, juice, cold brew

Glass only — closure not included

Usage

For fermenting, fit the drilled silicone bung 26/32 mm + a 2-piece airlock in the neck

Fill to the shoulder, never the neck — ferments need headspace

For storage, use your own screw cap or a solid stopper

Quick facts

Volume: 5 L

Material: clear glass

Neck: screw thread

Includes: bottle only

Related products

4L Glass Demijohn Dame-Jeanne

4L Demijohn Fermentation Kit

Fermentation Bucket 5L

Fermentation Bucket 6L with Airlock & Tap

Fermentation Bucket 10L with Airlock & Tap

Simax Glass Yeast Bottle 2L
