The FermZilla Tri-Conical 55L is the fermenter that brought stainless-conical capabilities to a PET price tag — pressure fermentation, yeast dumping and harvesting, spunding, and oxygen-free closed transfers, all in a crystal-clear vessel where you can actually watch the fermentation you're controlling. This Easy-Grip Starter Kit is KegLand's latest Gen 3.2 evolution in its double-batch size: 55 litres of capacity, built for brewers fermenting two batches' worth of wort at once — or filling two Cornelius kegs from a single fermentation.

The Tri-Conical generation is defined by its bottom end. A 3" Tri-Clover ferrule is moulded directly into the tank, carrying a genuine 3" butterfly valve and a 600mL Tri-Clover collection container — open the valve and settled trub drops cleanly into the jar; swap the jar mid-fermentation and you're harvesting a generation of clean yeast for the next brew, exactly like a stainless unitank ten times the price. Above it, the clear PET tank is pressure-rated to 2.4 bar (35 psi), which unlocks the modern pressure workflow end to end: ferment under pressure to suppress esters and fusels (clean lager-like beers at warmer temperatures), carbonate naturally by spunding instead of buying CO₂, and push finished beer to your kegs through a closed transfer that never lets oxygen touch it — the single biggest upgrade a hazy IPA brewer can make.

The Starter Kit is genuinely brew-ready: the Easy-Grip threaded lid ring and pressure lid with red 35 psi PRV, an integrated-gauge BlowTie spunding valve (0–15 psi) as standard, a 100cm silicone floating dip tube kit with weighted filter and stainless float that draws clear beer from below the surface, plus carbonation caps for gas and liquid connections — standard ball lock disconnects click straight on. Pair it with a 35L all-in-one brewing system and you have the classic double-batch pipeline.

A few honest PET rules that keep this fermenter safe for years: keep it out of direct sunlight (UV degrades PET), don't exceed 35°C — and above roughly 30°C keep pressure to 5 psi or less, which means hot kveik fermentations should run essentially unpressurised. Before every pressurised batch, do the sixty-second water pressure check: part-fill with water, apply 15 psi, confirm the connections hold. Tanks carry a date marking — if you pressure-ferment, a hydro test every two years is the recommended habit.
