This is the setup our own crushing service runs daily: MaltZilla at a 1 mm gap, hopper full, straight into the bucket. Crushing your own malt means buying whole grain (cheaper, keeps for a year instead of weeks) and crushing minutes before mashing — the freshness difference shows up in the mash efficiency and the beer.
Sold piecemeal, the parts run well past the bundle price — and everywhere else the transformer is the surprise extra that stops the whole station working on day one.

- Bolt mill to board, board over a bucket, fill the hopper, switch on
- Set the gap once with a feeler gauge — we run 1 mm for BIAB and all-in-one systems
