Pairs well with

Extra light DME is the most useful powder in the brewery: spray-dried all-malt wort that dissolves into starter wort, tops up a gravity that came in low, or becomes a whole extract batch. 'Extra light' means the palest grade there is — it boosts gravity without shifting colour or flavour.

For yeast starters it's the standard: 100 g per litre of water gives you the 1.040 starter wort every lab recommends. For brew day, 100 g in 23 L adds roughly one gravity point — the honest fix when your efficiency missed the target.

Store it dry and sealed: DME is ferociously hygroscopic and turns to concrete in a humid cupboard.

Key features

  • Palest DME grade — gravity without colour
  • The yeast-starter standard: 100 g/L for 1.040 wort

  • 500 g and 1 kg bags

Usage
