What sets the Electric Grain Mill apart from drill-driven mills is its built-in motor and variable speed control. The drive roller is connected directly to the motor shaft, so there's no drill to clamp, support, or dial in — you simply flick the switch and crush. The variable speed dial lets you match the crush rate to the job: gentle and slow for a careful crush on delicate specialty malts, hard and fast when powering through a big base-malt grain bill at up to 1.7kg of grain per minute (around 100kg/hour). The 58mm hardened stainless steel rollers use a fluted design akin to commercial grain mills, cracking the husk longitudinally to open up maximum surface area for conversion in the mash while keeping the husk intact for a better filter bed during the sparge — the crush quality that directly drives mash efficiency.

Dialling in your crush is fast and repeatable: pull the spring-loaded pin, rotate the dial to one of 10 gap settings spanning 0.8mm to 2mm, and release. That range covers everything from a tight crush for maximum efficiency through to the wider gaps suited to BIAB and all-in-one systems, and because the setting is fixed mechanically it's perfectly repeatable batch to batch. The removable hopper holds up to 1kg of grain at a time, and the whole unit is compact enough to store easily between brew days.

The bundled Bamboo Mounting Board is the ideal base — mount the mill onto it, sit it across a standard bucket, and it holds the mill stable while the crushed grain drops straight into the vessel below, keeping grain dust out of the motor vents. Crushing your own grain means you can bulk-buy uncrushed malt for maximum freshness and a far longer shelf life, then crush only what you need, only when you need it.

Note: For motor longevity, do not run the mill for more than 6 minutes continuously or crush more than 10kg in one continuous run — pause to let the motor rest. Brush down the mill and board to clear grain dust; do not use water or liquid cleaners, and store in a dry environment.
