Brewtools HopDrop Kit 2” - Dry Hop Under Pressure Without Oxygen

Price: €229,90

The Brewtools HopDrop Kit 2” is the engineered answer to pressure fermentation’s one remaining weak point: getting the dry hops in. Anyone who ferments under pressure knows the dilemma — open the fermenter to add hops and you dump your carefully spunded CO₂, let oxygen flood in over the beer at its most vulnerable moment, and often trigger a foaming yeast bloom for good measure. The homebrew forums are full of magnet rigs and dangling hop bags trying to dodge this exact problem. The HopDrop solves it properly: dry hop a fully pressurised tank without opening it, without oxygen ingress, and without losing a gram of pressure.

The principle is elegant. The HopDrop is a sealed hop chamber mounted above a 2” TC butterfly valve on the fermenter’s port. Load your hops into the chamber while the valve below stays closed and the tank stays sealed. Close the chamber, purge it with CO₂ through the gas connection so the hops sit in pure CO₂ rather than air, equalise pressure with the tank — then open the butterfly valve and the hops drop straight into the beer. Close the valve, and the tank never saw a single molecule of oxygen. For hazy IPAs and hop-forward beers where oxidation is the difference between vibrant and cardboard, this is the last gap in the oxygen-free chain closed for good. And it isn’t limited to hops — fruit, adjuncts, and other late additions go in through the same airlock-chamber workflow.

The 2” size is purpose-matched to the Brewtools MiniUni™ Pressure Kit 2.0, whose updated housing carries a dedicated 2” port built for exactly this kit — together they turn a MiniUni™ tank into a complete pressurised hazy-beer machine: ferment under pressure, spund, dry hop sealed, and transfer closed. As Brewtools’ own naming makes clear, the kit equally fits any pressurisable fermenter with a 2” TC port.

Key Features

Dry hop a pressurised fermenter without opening it — zero oxygen ingress, zero pressure loss

Sealed hop chamber with 2” TC butterfly valve — load, purge, equalise, drop

CO₂ purge connection — hops enter the beer from a pure CO₂ environment, never air

Purpose-matched to the 2” port on the MiniUni™ Pressure Kit 2.0

Fits any pressurisable fermenter with a 2” TC port

Also handles fruit, adjuncts, and other pressurised late additions

Usage

Best suited for: Dry hopping under pressure, oxygen-free late additions of fruit and adjuncts, hazy IPA and hop-forward production where oxidation control is critical

Compatible with: Brewtools MiniUni™ Pressure Kit 2.0 (dedicated 2” port), pressurisable fermenters with a 2” TC port, standard ball lock CO₂ disconnects for chamber purging

Workflow: Load hops into the chamber with the butterfly valve closed → seal the chamber → purge with CO₂ and vent via the PRV → equalise pressure with the tank → open the valve to drop the hops → close the valve. The tank stays sealed and pressurised throughout.
