Weyermann Carafa Special Malt Type 1 (800-1000 EBC)
Weyermann® Carafa® Special Type I is a premium dehusked roasted malt designed to deliver deep colour and smooth roasted character without the harsh bitterness often associated with traditional dark malts.
Produced from high-quality German barley and carefully roasted after removing the husk, this malt provides a clean, refined roast profile with notes of coffee, cocoa, and dark chocolate, while minimising astringency and burnt flavours.
With a colour range of 800–1000 EBC, Carafa Special Type I is ideal for enhancing colour and complexity in a wide range of beer styles while maintaining a balanced and smooth finish.
